Our Matriarchs
The African American woman is by all intent and purposes the strongest woman on Earth. Some would attribute that fact to our four-hundred years of oppression and Darwin’s Theory of Evolution, or as some say, survival of the fittest. Others would surmise that only the strongest were selected to take up space on the crowded deathtraps called slave ships, headed to the Western hemisphere. The matriarchs from Mother Africa obviously did not begin as some chattel, but as daughters, artisans, physicians, wives, advisors, builders, farmers, mothers, queens etc..
